Initial Notes from the first WiReS Event

The UC Davis WiReS Conference and Tradeshow took place from Tuesday, February 7th - Friday, February 10th, 2023. It was wonderful to have over 200 attendees, tuning in both in-person and virtually for this inaugural event. We were happy to have 54 Podium Presentations, including 5 Keynote presentations and panel discussions, and 85 inspiring speakers share their work and research with our attendees. We are also incredibly thankful for the 16 exhibitors that generously shared their knowledge and insights.

This conference would not have been possible without the hard work and dedication of the individuals who spent many hours over the past 18 months planning this conference. We would like to give a special shout-out to our full technical program committee and our lead conference chair, Michele Barbato, for their support and guidance through the conference planning process.

Conference Proceedings and Call for Papers

Our team is working to compile papers to share with the public after the conference. All submissions are welcome as long as they relate to the conference theme and topics. Papers do not need to have been presented at WiReS to be submitted. We encourage you to consider submitting their work for consideration.

Papers will undergo a traditional review process and evaluation. There is no cost to publishing a paper through this conference and they will be open access for readers on our website after they have been published. Learn more here!
